Cromford Mills wins prestigious Cultural Heritage Prize
Europe-wide jury recognised high quality of the Visitor Centre and significance of its educational function for entire World Heritage Site
Cromford Mills has won a prestigious EU prize for Cultural Heritage for ‘the adaptive reuse of [Building 17], which incorporates respectful and reversible interventions, addressed problems of contamination with innovative research. The result is a building with a social function that offers the perfect gateway to the World Heritage site of the Derwent Valley Mills’.
Tandem delivered the multi-sensory, interactive Visitor Centre at Building 17, noted by the jury as ‘a great addition to the site’.
