‘The darkened clouds that hang over Ireland’
Yesterday saw the launch of the refurbished and reimagined National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park, County Roscommon in #IrelandsHiddenHeartlands.
The exhibition draws visitors into a shared story of a terrible time, told here through the narrative of one estate but echoed nationwide.
It's a great honour to have one of our visitor experiences officially launched by Catherine Martin, Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and the Chairperson for National Famine Commemoration Committee.
‘For the first time Ireland has a place to learn about the local and national story of the Famine.’
For Tandem, The National Famine Museum has been a passion project that has inspired us to deliver a ‘world class tourism experience’ for the local community, the Strokestown Park team, the Irish Heritage Trust, Fáilte Ireland and for Ireland.
